When I broke my mast 3 weeks ago my Hood roller furling tube got bent at its intersections. The tube is 1 1/8 diameter aluminum, and I have not been able to find replacement. What roller furled system do you use, and why? I looked at Harken cruising (round) and racing (tapered) and the latter requires cutting the stay and special cut on the jib; the former is less aerodynamic. I race and cruise my Typhoon Senior. The stay length is about 27 feet...where can I get advice. The system shout be the same as on the CD 25. Suggestions for brand and model? Can I just buy a replacement tube? The original came in sections but I'll pay the freight for a full-length tube.
Thanks.

Re: Roller Furling
the TyS that we used to have had a Harken OO furling unit on it.
The foil was oval shaped and came in 7' sections.
If your original furler was a Harken, I suggest contacting them directly, they have a reputation of great support.
I installed a brand new Harken OO unit on my Sea Sprite 28, and could not be happier. Took me about 4 hours to install with a new headstay as well. This included I think 2 or 3 trips up the mast.
