Typhoon seacocks

Post by Clem Dunkley »

Has anyone replaced the gate valve seacocks on a Typhoon? I am looking at an older model with the original corroded seacocks and it looks like it might be a job to remove them. Also, I am not sure if there might be a problem installing the newer ball-type, particularly after reading about some of the problems with replacing the scupper drain hoses. Any comments would be appreciated.

we replaced the entire cockpit drain system on our cd- 19 typhoon weekender by using a high-speed air disksander with a disk cutter and removed the entire thru-hull fittings and seacocks and tubing. this was not easy because of cramped space. bought all new fittings at west marine.. randy (p.s. did not replace cockpit drain fittings.)
