Can anyone advise me on how to remove the fuel injector pump on my volvo Penta MD 7A?

The Volvo manual is a little sparse here.

I'd first follow the instructions where to have the #1 cylinder at TDC, and then remove the fuel lines. Then remove the mounting nuts.
Take a picture of the shaft position as it comes out, and don't rotate anything unless needed.
Someone who has actually done this on an engine that matters may have better advice. I'm working around the fringes of my engine, having worked on gas engines successfully since 14 or so...

Maine Buzzard hit on the most important thing which is that you don't want to mess up the timing. I have not removed the IP from my volvo but I have done it to several other engines. Generally, you will put one cylinder at tdc by using either a timing pin or the dropped valve method. Then the pump can be taken off. If it is going to a rebuilder, they should put the pump at the correct rotation for you and lock it there but check with them on this. I always check timing after reinstalling just to make sure.
