I have had a very pleasant experience in purchasing a winter cover that I want to share with others looking for a supplier of canvas product. I have just purchased a custom cut canvas winter cover for my CD330 from Union Canvas in New Jersey (near Giant Stadium). They were very helpful in determining the best design and accommodated all my questions. We determined that the initial size should be 24’ x 40’. I then took a quick ride to their shop and picked up the 115lbs cover (to avoid shipping costs). They had cut an opening and slit to accommodate the approximate location of my mast. Once the cover was secured around the mast the two sides of the slit were laced together with a weather cover secured over the top of the laces by velcro. They recommend the use of laces over zippers for any long joints where pressure or flapping may occur. I then stretched the cover over the rest of the boat and marked the locations for all shrouds, the radar post, and outlined the appropriate length just below the waterline. Another quick trip to NJ and they added the finishing touches while I went out for lunch. I returned after a quick bite and found they had installed the large grommets where I had marked to accommodate the rigging. They had also cut and hemmed the edge and installed grommets to tie it down. The cover fits and looks great. The sides drop approximately 4" below the boot stripe and gives a nice finishing touch.
I have found this to be a VERY pleasant buying experience and the staff to be fantastic. I found their price of $450 to be very competitive and a much better solution than the large blue poly tarps I was replacing every year. The only option I regret not including was to sew on weather tight flaps over the grommet openings in the event I decide to store the boat with the mast down next season.
