If you look at the photo you can see that the self tailing mechanism is rubbing against the winch where the rope cleats. I tried loosening the ring on top, then tightening it. Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what it could be?

I have a Barient two speed winch. I took it apart, cleaned and lubricated it and put it back together. I compared the parts to the one on the other side and they all appear to be there.
