FOR SALE: 1975 Cape Dory Handy Cat 14’ Hull#164
This Handy Cat 14' was made by Nauset Marine in MA. It has spent its life on the St. Martins River and Assawoman Bay on Maryland's Eastern Shore. It has only had one owner, my grandfather, and has always been well cared for-- for its age it is in very good condition. The boat has been preserved and stored in a clean garage for the past seven years.
Ten years ago, we had the gelcoat and teak redone at Hartge Boat Works in Galesville, MD. There is one spot on the bow that is a repair--which would have to be buffed out if you were worried about looks. Just after we had the boat reworked, my grandfather scrapped it accidentally coming into his dock.
The sail and mast hoops are in new condition--they too were replaced not long ago. Everything else on the boat is original--blocks, bronze hardware, mast, booms. The mast and booms are still in good useable condition, however, they are not pretty. Usually we would sand them down and refinish them almost every year, but they have not been done in quite a while now. I do not have a sail cover.
The trailer is in excellent condition. It too has been in a garage. All you need is a tag to make it back to your house. It is a 1998 galvanized Load Rite trailer with rollers to help you easily roll the boat on and off safely. All the lights etc. are working--tires are in great condition, bearings etc. It is a 1998, but it is really like new.
Please only email me if you are seriously interested in a Handy Cat. No, I do not have any photos since the boat has been disassembled and in dry storage for years now. It is as I described above. In good condition and the trailer is like new.
I will entertain any reasonable offer for this Handy Cat with trailer.
If seriously interested please email me.
Thank you.
