The 150 Genoa on my 1972 Weekender has served me and the previous owners well, but, alas, after many patches, it is time to replace it. I have had a great deal of success racing Ladybug, due in part to the sails, and I want to try to find a loft that will reproduce the sail to the exact measurements of the old one now knowing that it has stretched a bit over the past 38 years. I have discovered, for example, that the Sail Warehouse offers a 150 with a 10' foot where the foot on my sail is 11". Has anyone had experiences or suggestions you would like to share. Any would be appreciated.

Purchasing New Sails for Typhoon Weekender

Sails
Hi Ned,
Did you think about Sailrite and sewing it yourself?
If you are looking for cheap but not dyi, you may look at FX--I have heard mixed reviews.
We use Dave Bolyard for our race sails. He is in Mandeville, La and we are in SC but we still get a perfect fit, a great product at a very competitive price.
Dave, his wife and kids are or have been USSailing national contenders. Dave has won many, many major regattas, including the Lipton Cup.
However you do it, it is a long term product and a large investment. Dave has not made sails for our Cape Dories but I would not hesitate in asking him to make me a sail for my 25D or Typhoon. He knows his business.

Custom Sail Fit
To get a custom fit for your sail specifications, the best solution is to bring the sail to a local loft and have them reproduce it there. Mail order houses are not really set up for custom work.
