volvo electrical quirk after lightning hit, CD30

Post by Marvin Dukes »

It appears that during a thunderstorm last week, my CD30 got hit by lightning. No major damage, except ohm meter on panel inop, windex and VHF ant. vaporized, masthead light ruined. All easily replaceable. The thing that worries me is that the low oil pressure light and alt light on the engine panel stay dimly lit when the key is off. even turning the master battery switch off does not change this. When the key is on, things seen normal. I haven't been able to tell if the alternator is working or not, but I suspect alt damage. My boat has one of those battery isolators (2 batteries) so that could be the problem. Any suggestions before I start taking things apart? Thanks Marvin CD30 Traveller, Beaufort SC
