Spinnaker/Drifter Snuffer

Post by Dean Abramson »

I have a snuffer that came on my drifter. (I have upgraded to the ATN snuffer.) I would like to get $150 for it, 1/3 the cost of my new one. This old one is in very good shape; I'd say excellent except for a few small stains. It is 43 feet long. My guess is that it will work for all of the CDs from 32 on down (with some modification as you go smaller.)

Why did I upgrade? The first couple of times I used it, it worked flawlessly. The next time I tried, the control line inside the sock had gotten twisted up with the sail, and it was a PITA. The ATN has both control lines outside the sock, so in a weak moment I ordered one.

I think if you are familiar with a sock like this (I had no previous experience) and know how to use it, this is a nice bargain. If your boat is smaller than a 31, you will probably want to hem it. But I think that this sock would work better with a smaller sail. If you hemmed, you would have the length you need, but retain the relative extra width (compared to the sail) which I believe would make things smoother.

$150 PM me if you want more info.
