Spicy Hot Crackers

Post by barfwinkle »

My sister gave me this yesterday. At first I wasn't too sure, but they are good.

2 sleeves of saltine crackers
1 package of Hidden Valley Buttermilk Salad Dressing Mix (DRY)
2 Tbl spoons of Crushed Red Pepper
2/3 cup of Veg Oil

Put Crackers in a large zip lock bag. Mix all other ingredients and pour over crackers, coating as evenly as possible. Seal the baggie being careful not to break the crackers, and "turn" the crackers until the oil is absorbed in the crackers. Continue to turn (carefully) every so often for a total time of about 30 minutes.

These make GREAT snack crackers with summer sausages &/or cheeses. They do have a little "bite" to them but they are simple and tasty and crisp.
