CD 28 Bridgedeck

Can anyone tell me what year Cape Dory added the cockpit bridgedeck to the Cape Dory 28??

I am also interested in information comparing the sailing performance of the CD 27 and CD 28. Although shorter on the waterline, I suspect that the CD 27 will outperform the CD 28. I would appreciate any opinions CD 27 and 28 owners may provide.

I believe it must have been somewhere in the '78 to '79 timeframe. My CD 28 is an '80, and it has the bridge deck.
