Ty Senior Negative BusBr

Post by Jack Laudermilk »

1985 Hull Number 27. Has anyone located a negative buss bar on this vessel or do I need to add one for additional electronics? I tried tracing the negative wire backwards from the battery but it disappears somewhere in the innards of the boat out of sight, out of reach. Could it be that the factory wired everything to a common negative feed in construction with access lost to the owner? That would be primarily or solely lights. Or am I looking for a BusBar in all the wrong places.

Jack,

My Ty Senior had pos/neg wires going from the battery directly to the electrical panel which was located on the bulkhead underneath the bridgedeck, inside the cabin. Not sure if this was OEM, but a negative buss bar was located inside the electrical panel box. I'd bet your buss bar is hidden somewhere behind your panel.

Hope that helps and good luck,

Tom
