Lake Superior to Nome, Alaska

Post by John Danicic »

A new voyage to follow.

To all.

I found an interesting blog of a sailor, Captain Tommy D. Cook, who is sailing his 30 foot trimarand from the still partially frozen Lake Superior out the St Lawrence Seaway to Nome Alaska via the Northwest passage.

So far, he is in Isle Royal. He is a good writer and a very experienced seaman. It should be a good blog to follow over the course of his voyage.

Yes, it is an interesting blog. Thanks for the link John. I bookmarked it and read it with interest. One thought that crosses my mind: the guy must have anti-freeze flowing through his veins to be sailing Superior this time of the year. Burr...

I'm looking forward to the rest of this adventure. I read the blog last night and really enjoyed it. I can't imagine sailing in that particular boat in any kind of blow with snow and possible ice in the water. Crazy stuff. I hope that he makes it.
