Repowering 1978 CD28 advice

Time to change out the original Volvo md7a. Would like to add some H.P 16-25. Yanmar? Universal? what models? Thanks

Check out Betamarine while you're at it. I'm currently installing a Beta 14 in my CD-27 and am impressed with the quality, engineering and especially the design of the engine allowing total access to service points from the engine front. It's designed from the ground up specifically for small boat applications and not a redesign of an existing product.

I'll have pictures and a write-up on my project as soon as I can put it together (after the boat is out of the boatyard, anyway).

I couldn't ask for better customer support. The Beta folks are knowledgable and accessible and have addressed every question I've had appropriately.
