Whisker pole for typhoon

Question: What is proper length for whisker pole for typhoon weekender? How far up the mast from the deck should the attachment point be mounted? Thanks for help

From what I understand a whisker pole should be as long as the foot of the head sail you are using. As far as the height I can't help on that. Chris

I was always told to keep the whisker pole level.
I don't know if this was to improves performance
or to keep the stress forces from breaking end latches on the boats low budget whisker pole

I just purchased a whisker pole from West Marine for my Typhoon. Cost is about $145. Lenght is a function of the "J" which is 6.2 for the Typhoon. If you get the adjustable 6' to 12' pole you'll be covered. Play with the height a bit. I've found level to be a good starting point. Also, consider a vang if you don't already have one.
