Have any of you converted gasoline engin on your boat to propane?
Any pros and cons on this? Wouldn't it be safer and cleaner burning?

Propane offers few benefits over the use of gasoline in an internal combustion engine and in fact several negatives. Like gasoline vapors, propane is heavier than air, any leak has the potential to turn your bilges into bombs, so the safety issue vs. gasoline is moot. As far as energy concentration goes, it's hard to beat gasoline. Propane requires a pressure vessel vs. a tin tank, and more volume for the same amount of engine hours. Cleaner burning I agree, but the other benefits are ilusionary, IMHO.

Good luck,
