The previous owner of my CD30 apparently loved Velcro tape because the backing to it is stuck to my interior teak. There are about 10 one inch square adhesive backings stuck to the teak. My question is how to remove them without destroying the teak?

if it was me i would try a hair dryer to heat the glue behind the velcro and pull it off or try a razor blade (like removing paint from a window ) then using a Q-tip and some acetone or some other type of remover and try dabbing it. if the glue comes off easily you may than have to fine sand the area. try it in an area (if possible) that .won't show. good luck

remains. The solvent it contains is Xylene. I have found it safe on
fiberglass and on varnish, but I always clean it off quickly
and apply a polish afterwards to protect the gel-coat.

After you've gently removed as much as you can with your fingers, spray a bit of WD-40 on whatever is left on the teak. Wait about 5 minutes to allow the WD-40 to work, then wash the glue off gently with a SOFT scouring sponge. I do this all the time & my teak looks great. Good luck!

My wife bought some stuff called "Goo Be Gone". It works great for remove tape glue. I believe it is concentrated citric acid (orange juice). probably got it at Walmart, but I am not sure.
