Leaks
I acquired my 1977 Typhoon weekender last year and quickly realised I had a problem - water in the bilge about a gallon in 3hrs. I had the boat flipped and the fiberglas ground down; any cracks repaired and the whole bottom reglassed. The boat was largely dry most of last season. The boat was stored with the bilge dry which is good in -15C winters. This season I am taking on more water and I dont know where it is getting in. The seacocks are dry but I am taking out about 1/2 a bucket a day. I do not think the boat was well cared for by the previous owner( it was bought in Maine) and I am sure the original damage was the result of ice. I would be very interested to hear of any other experiences and any suggestions would be very welcome.

Just a Thought
But could the rudder post be leaking?
Is the water in the bilge associated with rain fall?
You don't have an engine shaft going thorough the hull, and if it isnt coming from the seacocks, or from the deck, then I would assume that the water must be coming from the rudder shaft.
All of this assuming that there is no hole in the hull!
But what the hell do I know.
Good Luck.
