Typhoon Rudder Shaft-to-tiller slipage

Post by Paul D. »

Does anyone know a simple, effective method to stop the tiller from slipping on the shaft? My rudder shaft has a worn spot on it from the set bolt and while I don't think the thing will slip all the way round, the feeling is not pleasant! I do not want to just keep tightening the bolt and strip the rudder cap in ignorance!
Thanks,

Years ago, I had same problem. I drilled and tapped a hole in the shaft, then screwed longer screw into the shaft. Worked for me. Good luck.
