CD31 Mast Step Well/Sump

Post by JohnNuttall »

My CD31 mast step sits in a well/sump. The sump has a drain hole on the aft wall of the sump. The hole is about 3/8" higher than the bottom of the sump and holds water. I'd like to drill another hole, but I don't know what's under there, and can't see it either !

I think there is a drain hose leading from that hole to the shower/lav sump aft. Or maybe it's just a hole and drains into the bilge (there isn't much bilge at that location). What I'd like to do is simply drill a hole and drain the water into the bilge, but I don't believe "exploratory drilling" is in order !

Anybody KNOW what's under there?
