I have just become the very proud owner of a 1981 CD25. After the maiden voyage of 70 nm. I am in love with the boat. Now she is in her home port I am getting down to the details of replacing/upgrading 'older' hardware. Nav lights are a very high priority with me. Having said all this my question is who manufactured the running lights (side) for CD? Secondly I am assuming that there may be some method of obtaining replacement lenses.. (port is pink and starboard is dead grass green). I'd appreciate any help that the folks on this group could offer.
Regards.

Don:
I don't know who made those lenses. I have seen "replacement lenses" in the West Marine catalog. They look like they might fit. I havn't tried them.

Re: CD25 Nav light manufacturer.
In the 1980's the lights were Aquasignal. In the 1970's I don't know. Replacment lenses for their lights are readily available. The lights are so inexpensive I'd replace the entire fixture.Don Carr wrote: I have just become the very proud owner of a 1981 CD25. After the maiden voyage of 70 nm. I am in love with the boat. Re: CD25 Nav light manufacturer.
I have a 28 now but I had a 20 year love affair with a 25 (actually I'm still in love with her). I mounted AquaSignal Series 25 lights on the bow pulpit and the stern pushpit. I led the wires through the inside of the tubing and thus into the boat. (You are gonna rebed the pulpits, aren't you?) They make the boat look even better and they don't get blocked by the sail as the side lights can. I also mounted an Aqua Signal Series 40 Tri color/Anchor light at the masthead. In open water with a good sea running you can lose the sidelights and even the railmounted ones as you dip into the trough. Chances are real good that the masthead light will always be visible. I replaced the cabin running light switch with a double throw. One direction turned on the rail mounted lights and the other turned on the tri color. Was one of the best projects I ever did.John wrote:In the 1980's the lights were Aquasignal. In the 1970's I don't know. Replacment lenses for their lights are readily available. Re: CD25 Nav light manufacturer.
Thanks for the info. The boat is in the water now and the relighting sounds like a great off-season project. I may be in touch for more deatails.
