Bill Slater suggested that I post this article to the CD message board. Last weekend, April 13-15, a crew member and I sailed Wings of the Morning, a CD26, offshore to Sabine Pass (actually crossed the border into Louisiana) and back.
The winds reached 10 knots stonger than predicted in the marine forecast of 20 to 25 knots. That made for a interesting trip and confirmed in my mind that the CD26 "is a tough little boat".
Either of the following links should work. The ending / is necessary.

Thanks George
We all learn by sharing our experiences both good and bad and in between. You got more than you bargained for but apparently you're as tough as the boat.

Well writen story, thanks for sharing it.
I'll bet it was nasty out there, 7' seas in the ocean isnt a big deal, but those shallow waters you were in! Thats another story, waves that size are downright evil in shallow water, short intervals and very square wind driven waves, no doubt you had a very bumpy ride, sounds like you did extreamly well handling things.
I also agree wholeheatedly on bulwarks, thats been a big dissapointment of mine with my CD, those tiny toe rails just dont cut it for bracing against in anyway, which really limits the spots you can safely brace yourself when working on deck.
