We want to convert our CD 28 Cruiser powerboat from gas to diesel. Need opinions as to type and size of diesel to use.

Our CD 28 Open "Junonia" is powered with a 210 HP Cummins disel, which gives her 16.5 knots at 7 GPH. This engine replaced the Volvo
she was built with.
We are very happy with the performance of our Cummins, but beware!...
your project will NOT be cheap!
If I can be of further help with details, ask away!
"Junonia" resides at Pilot's Point in Westbrook, CT

Our Cape Dory 28FB had the Chrylser gas engine too and had nothing but problems and poor performance. We had the Cummins 210 Turbo installed several years ago and its the best decision we could have made. The engine has plenty of power yet is good on fuel. We burn about 7 gph at 2300rpm which is cruising at 16-17k Top speed is probably 21-22k but the boat does not really handle well at that speed. I would encourage you to "spend the bucks" if your planning to keep the boat. We love ours........

Sorry to get back to you so late but we were away. Appreciate the info on the Cummins 210 Turbo. It is very pricy for us but we plan to keep the 28 and cruise the Chesapeake Bay for a long time so diesel would be the answer. Thanks,
Fred
