Wondering if any CD'ers are planning to attend the boat show in Miami over the weekend. I am hoping to escape from the New England chill for a few days and plan to go the show on Monday the 19th. If anyone would like to meet or get together please let me know. Thank you.

Hello Richard:
I'm going but unfortunately not on Monday. I will be going two days (Friday and Sunday).
Thursday is "Premier Day". I am not sure what "Premier Day" entails exactly but tickets cost $28 for this one day. Regular days tickets are $16. I get a two day pass (Fri and Sun) for $26. Friday I spend at the Strictly Sail venue only. Sunday I spend 1/2 day at the Convention Center (hundreds and hundreds of booths, nautical gear, supplies, etc.) and 1/2 day back at Strictly Sail. They have a free bus transport to take you between all of the venues. I think there are 4, possibly 5 different venue sites, depending on what you are interested in.
It is my recollection from several years ago that going on Monday (the last day) has good and bad points. This Monday it will be "President's Day" so all federal, state, county offices are closed. I think most schools are closed, etc. This should mean more attendees. Exhibitors know it's the last day and they are anxious to make deals, etc. However, they are also anxious to pack up so some exhibitors tend to be closing down and packing up as you are still strolling by.
A word of caution - it will be cold here this weekend. 65-68 degrees for high temps.
Send me a PM and I will be happy to give you my phone number and provide you with additional local information about local public transportation (Metrorail and People Mover), where to stay, etc.
