Message Board turns 10.....
Well, while we are all asleep or otherwise preoccupied with our lives, on October 18th, and without any fanfare, this message board reached another milestone -- it turned ten. We all missed it. But, yep, we've been around for 10 years. Who knew? So happy birthday everyone! So a BIG thank you to Walt Bilofsky and the California Cape Dory Owners Association who started it all and to Bob Dugan, both of these fine gentlemen help to keep it going.

Be Proud
I really do believe this is one of the premiere sailing message boards out there. You guys should all be proud as should everyone who participates on a regular basis to help make the board what it is.
Congratulations to all of us!
Dick

What a surprise... I thought the message board existed before CDSOA, Inc. I had no idea the message board was actually two months younger! We certainly would have made it part of the miles stones to celebrate during the CDSOA, Inc. Annual Meeting back in Nov.
My hats off to Walt and Bob and you for starting and keeping a good thing going!

I too thought it was somewhat older, but what the hey. Who Cares.
I will say that this board is truly a valuable asset to ANY Cape Dory Owner as well as to any active sailor. I cannot imagine the value this board adds to our boats, but I just cant help but believe that it is considerable.
Not to mention the comroderie from all of the fleet/CDSOA activities. And remember folks a portion of your $40 dues goes to support this board and for those non-members that use the board you could kinda consider it like NPR or PBS, you get the bennies whether you are a member or not, so if you fall into that category, Won't you please consider sending in your membership today????
Happy Holidays to everyone.

The very first message posted....
If you go back in time, it's easy, just return to the forum from this message, (click on your browser's Back button or click on the "Cape Dorys" link located both above and below this message thread) and either scroll to the top or bottom of the page. On the right hand side you'll see
Goto page 1, 2, 3 ... 373, 374, 375 Next
Just click on the last page. Currently it's 375 (could be 376 by the time you read this). If all you see are the two Announcements, click on the "Previous" link which will now appear after "Goto page".
Goto page Previous 1, 2, 3 ... 373, 374, 375
Then scroll to the bottom of the page.

How Neat is That
Russ is the first CD owner I ever "corresponded" with as he sent me pics of his 28 (at the time). I still had a Catalina 27.The very first message was posted on Friday, October 18, 1996 by Russ Campbell regarding "Barrier Coats".

Amazing!
Cathy,
You never cease to amaze. That is a neat piece of our history that I sure didn't realize.
Thanks,
Dick
