Seeking information on the correct amperage for the various fuses in the CD27 electrical pannel. Are the boxes standardized? My box has cabin lights, VHF, bilge pump, running lights, instruments (I have an autohelm tridata), "spare" to which I run the AM/FM casette player, bow light, and deck light.

Re: CD 27 Fuses
Richard,
As I am about a 1000 miles away from my CD27, I can't give you the specs from mine, HOWEVER, to my knowledge Cape Dory used circuit breakers in the electrical panels and not fuses. Maybe some of the older boats had fuses, but I never heard of that. Someone else may be able to give you the data from their boat. Most equipment has current draw specifications either on it or in their manuals. The various manufacturers could probably tell you the spec if you call them.
Good Luck,

LIQUIDITY is a 1977 CD28. We have the original fused panel. Don't know what size the individual fuses are, though, or whether they are all the same. The boat's on the hard and I won't be on board for a couple of weeks.

Re: CD 27 Fuses
To Richard and the rest of the CD gang out there,
Here is the data from 1981 CD28 #307:
Deck Light 5 Ampere rating
Mast Light 5 Ampere rating
Running Lights 10 Ampere rating
Spare 10 Ampere rating
Nav-Com 15 Ampere rating
Cabin Lights 15 Ampere rating
My 1980 CD27 #186 has the same panel and the same units, so I believe that the CD27 would be identical. BOAT/US and West Marine both carry circuit breakers (which I have put on my Grady-White) to replace the conventional 3AG style fusesholders.
Best Wishes!
