What Stops You From Sailing!!

Post by Warren Kaplan »

"This" stops me from sailing! We have our 9 month old granddaughter all next weekend. She's one of the only things in my life that ranks higher than Sine Qua Non. But by this time next year I'll have little Lauren Jenna tailing jib sheets (uh...on a self tailing winch of course) and I already have the blessing of her sailing mother and father!! :D :D

She is absolutely beautiful, and you are a lucky guy! Can you send her down into the bilge to retrieve wrenches?? Just kidding...

Great Photo

What is really amazing is that something this fragile can survive all the trials of life to become old like us. My barely 17-year-old grandaughter just graduated from high school in three years with honors; makes me smile too.

Years Go By...

Warren,

Yes, I think a turn at the jib sheets would do her well. Who knows where it will lead?

Cheers,

How Beautiful

Post by Oswego John »

Warren, Clay, Ken, John, et al:

What beautiful children. They look happy and full of life. Enjoy them to the max.

Nothing wrong with breaking them in young.

Wish I could do a little bragging about my grandkids, but I'm all bragged out. The photo scrapbooks are bulging at the seams. I can't bounce them on my knee anymore. All of them are in college now.

Ken, one of my granddaughters graduated from college last week and has been accepted for advanced studies in the grand state of N.C. She'll be attending UNC at Charlotte. Another Tarheel.

Time flies by, especially when you're having fun with the young uns.

Beauties,
O J

Warren,

My wife and I had my 2 year old grandson this morning. Its raining, Dream Weaver is tied up at the dock and I couldn't be happier.

Clay and I are hoping to make your float-in on the 4th. I hope you can arrange for your grand daughter to pay you a visit while we're there.

Never ask us grandparents about our grandchildren unless you have a LOT of time.

The short version is - I have three daughters and three boy/girl pairs of grandchildren ages 2 - 13. All other versions go on forever.

I don't mind people talking about their grandchildren. I wear hearing aids and they have on/off switches!

Memories

Post by GLutzow »

I, unfortunately, have nothing but girls. TOOOOO much estrogen around here. But I digress. My oldest is now 24 and married, but... Picture a blustery 25knott+ day, no clouds and a great sail. Full main and a working jib on my TYW when my daughter was just two. Rail in the water, spray over the bow.. she's standing in the cockpit, toes splayed, my wife holding on to the back of her swim suit for dear life while she is screaming " faster daddy, faster"! Ain't life grand!!!!
