CD 28 sail, shore power question

Post by Bill »

I have all the Marinco shore power necessities and ready to install shore power on my CD28, but not sure where to put the Inlet. I would like to put it in the cockpit area but unsure as to where would be best for using the cockpit with power plugged in from the dock.
I know this is a stretch, but if you do have a 28 and have installed
shore power, or knows of anyone, please let me know.

Thanks

Shore Power location

Post by Sandy D. »

Bill,
Mine was installed in the head, works well for me.The cord is up front and out of the way.If it is near the cockpit you will be tripping over the cord wenever you go forward on that side.

Good luck

On my CD-30 it is in the aft end of the cockpit. That would be a great location if I docked stern first. I have a hard enough time backing out let alone backing in. When I hook up the shore power I lash the cord to the lifelines on the far side of the finger pier. It drops straight into the cockpit from the stern rail. That keeps it pretty well out of the way. I can't think of a much better location, Steve.
