Have any of you used, or know of, this contraption?

Installing a "real" bimini on a CD 25 seems awkward at best. However, having even just a little shade in the cockpit during the summer would be really nice. Those things are ``cheap", portable and may just fit under the boom of a small boat. Using it under way is probably not recommended in the Roaring Forties, but then again, this is not really my sailing ground.
I found about this in a recent issue of Practical Sailor where a reader spoke highly of Pro-Tech (the manufacturer) customer service. Just wondering...

Never used THAT but I have been known to...
....use a golf umbrella. Works nice, is cheap (find an all plastic/wood one), and is very easy to get out of the way and toss in the cabin or in a locker.
Also can be custom-located for optimal shading
