Cape Dory 24 Trawler

I was driving to work this morning and came up on boat transport trailer carrying a Cape Dory "24" Trawler, power boat. I knew that's what it was because that's what it said on the cabin side in blue letters in the same font as my CD 28. I didn't know they made a 24 foot power boat. It had a hull shape that looked to be full displacement. In fact it looked like someone had taken a CD 28 Sailboat and chainsawed 4 ft. off the stern an put on a square transom. The cabin arrangement was similar to the CD 280 Sport model, with an open back.Does anybody know the history of this vessel? How many were made? Just curious. Thanks
