Cape Dory 10 centerboard

Post by Tom Amato »

I need to replace the damaged centerboard on my CD 10. Spartan Marine says they are no longer building the Spartan 10. If they get enough requests for centerboards, they will do a run, but as for now they cannot help me.
Does anyone have a source?

A centerboard is not extremely difficult to make. It is only a shaped piece of wood. Attempt to gain the demensions from cape dory, then just fabricate one. If the demensions are not available, then measure the CB casing opening to determine the boards demensions. Allow about one-eight inch clearance beteween the casing and board for expansion. Length of board is arbitrary to some degree. Any ? do contact.

Do you know the dimensions of the board? I need to build that and the rudder for mine, since my boat has none of same. I would really like to have a drawing and dimensions, or a picture of that so I can make them...

Thanks much...
