Mark your calendars - the New England gathering has been confirmed for July 17 & 18th in Onset, MA.!

I will be posting more information about the sail-in as the details are finalized. Looking forward to seeing all the interested boat owners and sharing our love for CD. I have had 65 boats reply as likely to attend which includes 35 confirmations.

Count us in!!! Anyone north of the canal want to hook up and cruise down together? We'll leave from Boston (Marina Bay) and go to Scituate or Plymouth, then to Onset the next day or something like that. I haven't checked the current tables for the canal yet.

Hi Neil,

I'm definately going and am interested in a joint effort on the way down. I'm also heading over to the Vineyard after the get-together. Maybe others are interested in doing the same. I guess my next purchase is a 1999 Eldridge.

Gary

Gary,

What would be your likely plan on the way down?

We could meet up around the entrance to The Narrows. Scituate or Plymouth on the way down? Plymouth is good if you go in on the flood and out on the ebb. Have to figure the canal current, too. You're forcing me to stop at West Marine for the 1999 Eldridge. <G>

No plans for after the meet yet. Will have to check the calendar and see. Could either stay on that side of the canal or go back through and maybe over to P-town. What's the weather gonna be that week? <G>

We will be attending!!!!!! Plan on sailing from New London/Groton area on the Thrusday AM (early AM) before the Rendezvous. Plan to anchor (maybe? - looking for a protected cove/bay) somewhere a little over half way to Onset.
Would welcome other boats to 'Floatilla'-up for the trip.

I plan to sail in the Massachusetts Bay area this summer on Puffin, my Cape Dory 31. Count me in for the rendezvous on July 17-18 at Onset. Sounds like a great gathering.

Carl,

My husband and I would be interested in sailing in the company of another vessel from NJ to MA for the rendezvous. Our CD32,is located at Lockwood Boat Works in Morgan, NJ. I'm sure I've seen Puffin there during the winter months, or is that someone else's CD? Let me know if you'd like company on the trip.

Thanks,

Please mark me down as likely to attend the Onset Gathering.

I'll be heading from Duck I. ( Westbrook, CT )

How does something like Westbrook --> Point Judith --> Onset sound ?

Guess I'll go down and get the 1999 Eldridge too!

Paul,

>>Be sure and stop at Scituate and pick us up?<<

We may spend the night of the 16th in Scituate. We'll stop either there or Plymouth. Have to check the current table to see when's best to enter the canal. The later in the day, the more likely we overnight in Scituate.

Either way, we can pick you up along the way!!

>>Monday is Feb. 1st!!!!<<

Three more weeks to the boat show, then three more weeks and the cover comes off. "Cover off day" is the official start of summer. <G>

Paul,

If you and Neil want company, Windsong (CD22) and Cottontail (CD30) are also planning on attending from Scituate.

Bob - Point Judith to Onset can be a very long day. I usually go to Newport or the Sacconett (spelling?) River. Upon enterning The Sacconett I pulled along a small commercial dock to starboard late at night and did not notice the fishing gear until the wind shifted - WOW! The trip from Newport to Onset is usually a nice relaxed pace.

Looking forward to seeing you in Onset,

Chris
