I have recently purchased a 28 Cape Dory that was located in the Northeast. I moved it south to Florida and filled the water tank with water. I am unable to figure just where the drain is located is located inorder to drain the tank in the future. Any ideas?

On my water tanks aboard Jasmine, a CD28, there are no drain holes. In order to empty the tanks, I use a six foot 3/4 inch clear plastic hose and siphon the water into the bilge and then pump it overboard using the bilge pump. I suppose there may be better ways but it's really no inconvenience to go the low-tech route.

I don't have a drain. End of season, when I empty the tank, I just pump whatever is left out through the galley pump and into the sink. For faster work, I'd use a portable pump through the top access to the tank.
Think about installing a y-valve (or just disconnecting) at the galley pump and letting the tank drain into the bilge.
