I have heard every now and then about the problem of deck stress around the chainplates. I have owned and regularly sailed the same Typhoon for eight years and for as long as I remember have had stess lines circulating around the outside of the chainplates. They never seemed to have gotten any worse and the decks themselves don't show any evidence of being pulled up as I have heard on other boats with the problem. But I'm hoping somebody might have an idea of how to assess my degree of deck stress and can provide me with suggesstions for preventing the stress from getting any worse.
Much thanks for any help you can give me.
