Index Line Highlighted
Perhaps I am missing something here...the old board highlighted a subject line after it had been hit. This highlight stayed for a very long time so that I could always see where I had left off in my daily scrolling. Please let me know if it is possible to better highlight the line...and make it last. Telling viewed from unviewed messages
Hi, Bill -
I spent a little time on this, and found that it would not be helpful to use link highlighting to mark messages read.
All the links to messages within a topic are links into the same web page. So once one of them is marked read, all of them will be. That's the way the browsers work.
There are several ways to tell if a topic has new messages, and which ones they are. See this post for details. But they all depend on the time you last logged in, so once you log out, the system will no longer distinguish your old, unread messages from old, read messages.
Sorry this isn't more helpful. The new board doesn't do everything the old one did, just most things.

P.S. - This thread is being moved to the "About This Board" forum.
