making a cd 26 shine

I recently purchased a cd 26. I was wondering what you think the best cleaner I should use on the cleats. Is Brasso the only answer to dark brown brass. Are the cleats brass or bronze? Any help will be appreciated.

The cleats are bronze. You can clean them but forget about getting them to shine.

Btw, I spent two years in the navy with lots of brass exposed to the weather. It was shined *every* morning, or it turned green.
