Captain, I agree with you 100%. How does such a simple thing as taking care of batteries get SO complicated? The suggestion for battery combiners and smart chargers is fine, but it all costs BUCKS!
I think I will keep it simple, and spend the money on a good bottle of wine(or maybe a case!) for use when the hook is down...by the way, I have never had a problem with battery power when at sea........
