I've also tried the Rustoleum zinc spray the last few years because I don't know what else to try. Like everyone else, I found it doesn't work
all that well. The wax idea sounds good.
For the topsides, I've been using Jescar Power Lock instead of wax. It's a polymer sealant and is supposed to be more durable
than wax. I think I'll try that on the metal underwater gear. Who knows? It can't be any worse that the zinc spray.

For this season (2025) I am using PropGlide.
I bought the "small" size kit which was enough for two boats. I could have just bought the "sailboat" size.
My neighbor at the marina was not around so the extra paint went to waste.
Not really difficult to apply. Just need to get the prop and shaft clean to begin with and then sand with 80 grit.
See how it does this season.
