Does anyone know how much flex one should expect to find in a Typhoon aft deck. I notice that there is some flex in the deck. I am trying to determine the condition of the core in the deck and I am wondering if the flex is a bad sign.
Thanks.

typhoon aft deck
I found that my aft (the typhoon) deck was soft and then inspected the fittings by removing them and looking at the screw holes - they were wet due to improper bedding at the factory. As a result the aft deck was spongy due to water logging and some delamination. After I repaired it there is no sponginess - it is firm. I suspect that this area should be firm since it is where the motor mount is and where the cleats are located and therefore should be strong. Use the plastic handle of a screwdriver and thump the deck listening for a hollow sound as compared to a firn "clunk". The hollow sound is moisture or delamination.
