The spinnaker for KnoTy Boy is on order. It should be here by Christmas. We want the new sail for the SBC (Savannah, Beaufort, Charleston) Classic Boat Rally in May 2007.
My question: is there any printed specifications for mounting spinnaker hardware on the Typhoon mast? I would like to know about dimensions, and recommended hardware parts list.
I would enjoy any comments or recommendations.

spinnaker help!
This site might help! You should have a 23 1/2 inch stainless 7/8" track on the front of your mast just below the boom. The track starts at 23 1/2 inches above the base of the tabernacle. A spinnaker car is used there. hth

John, I will see you at the SBC this spring. I will be trailering Creampuff down your way for the event. Although I will be sailing main & jib at the SBC, I've given the spinnaker concept some thought, since I sail one on my J-22. The best rigging guide available is the Harken Innovative Sailing Solutions catalogue, and it's free. Page 32 of the 06 edition should answer the majority of your questions on what you'll need and where to put it.
That said, if and when I add the system, I will use an external halyard mounted slightly above the forestay, an external topping lift mounted below the forestay. A whisker pole ring is sufficient for the pole, and it's all that's allowed in the J-22 class. I'd run the halyard & topping lift back to the cockpit. You'll need a pole equal in length to your "J" dimension. You can get by w/o a down haul if you install twing lines to your spin sheets. See the top diagram on p32. Finally you'll need a set of turning blocks mounted near the taff rail.

What I am looking for is the measurement on the mast for the spinn halyard block, and the topping lift block. Are any of these installations made at Cape Dory, or are they all made by the owner?
I already have installed on the mast a bail for the pole.
Most of of the rest of what I need to install for the spinn is fairly straight forward spinnaker stuff.
