Hi,
I want to prepare my next summer trip to the Melonseed Solstice Regata. Next year i will stay in Hyannis for three days before the race and i search for goods spots to sail.
What i'm looking for is a public ramp( free or not), a good scenery and a place where my girlfriend could walk on the beach, she will come with me BUT she don't want to sail.
It will help me a lot, if you could post yours advises
Thank's
Happy Holidays to all
Marc

Marc,
There is all kinds of sailing in the Hyannis area...this is Cape Cod. Hyannis Harbor is on the west end of Lewis Bay. There is a public ramp in Hyannis that I use to have my CD-36 launched from. There is small public ramp at the east end of Lewis bay at Englewood beach good for launching small daysailers. I'm not sure what type of boat you will be bringing.
Corporation beach just west of Lewis Bay is a good place to walk. There are several small beaches on the north (land) side of Lewis Bay. Great Island on the south side is private.
If you want to cross Vineyard sound to the south there is Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard. If you want to sail east or west of Lewis Bay there are all kinds of small inlets to explore.

Melonseed
Thank's Mike,
I will bring my Melonseed (melonseed.com) , it's a small skift. At the time i was searching for a CD 14 someone on thd CD Board post about the MS, i look at the site of Roger Crawford and i felt in love with her.
I'm from Montreal Canada, so Cape Cod is not my usual play ground.
Thank's again

Ask Roger Crawford
Mark- As a fellow Melonhead, my best advice would be for you to drop a line to Roger. He knows "the best" places to launch a Melonseed, including some spots that most would consider hidden. He always seems to come up with some great places to sail during the regattas. It's worth noting that he tends to choose picturesque, yet protected harbors that offer protection in the weather is iffy, but opportunity is it's agreeable.
