Greater ‘Panhandle area’ Fleet, CDSOA forming
Hi All,
All this excitement over the new Florida Fleet has created interest in forming a ‘Panhandle / Gulf Coast’ area Fleet.
Steve Kuhar, CD25D & CD30B ‘Aikane’, sailing out of Pensacola, is organizing a ‘Panhandle / Gulf Coast’ area Fleet. And, I have also volunteered to help Steve contacting interested CD’ers.
The CD ‘Registry’ is dated. CD’ers will log in all their important info, but forget to update it as e-mail addresses, tel. numbers, boat ownership change, etc.
Two fold request;
1 - Please update the ‘Registry’ as applicable to you.
2 - If you and your CD sail the Gulf Coast waters from the FL Panhandle coast to the LA coast east of New Orleans and are interested in a the Panhandle area Fleet please e-mail or call me with your contact info.
If any current CDSOA members, home ported and/or sail in the above Gulf waters area, are interested in joining this fleet, please send me your contact, boat, etc. info. I’ll log it in and pass it along to Steve
Fair Winds,

PS: My wife is now convinced I breathe CDs, or at least GRP resin.

Leo,
Judging from the response so far it seems very likely to me that we will be able to form a panhandle fleet. I am working on procuring a meeting place, and I would hope that we can plan an organizational meeting in late January or early February. If anyone has any questions, ideas, or suggestions please feel free to contact me anytime at 850 994 5944. Thank you for your help.

CDSOA Membership Year, Panhandle Fleet Apps
For those CD'ers planning on Joining the Panhandle Fleet,
The normal CDSOA membership year is the calendar year, i.e. 01 Jan thru 31 Dec.
However, the Good News;
A few years the CDSOA Board voted that new members can join anytime after 01 Oct and their membership carries through for the remainder of that year thru the next calendar year to 31 Dec. This actually works out to help the CDSOA Secretary who has a flock of renewals coming in Dec., Jan., Feb., etc.
So - apply anytime
Please write across the top of your CDSOA Application "Panhandle Fleet". Grace is set up a file to keep track of the Apps. and keep Steve and Mike updated

Panhandle Fleet Too, Wow!
Hello to All and Leo,
This is really looking good. I am really excited about both the Florida Fleet, that Zeida is handling, and the possibility of a Panhandle Fleet. I believe we met Steve and his wife when they were here in Kemah buying the CD30B. The good thing about the new fleets is more than just the CDSOA, Inc. growing, it's about FUN. We have a lot of fun with our Cape Dory friends and associates. And I know the new Fleet members will get back ten times what they put into it.

That is really exciting!
Two new fleets!
The old adage --Enthusiasm is contagious!
Must be true.
What a great way to head into the new year and launch into a second CDSOA, Inc. decade.

Geater Panhandle/Gulf area Fleet
Hi All,
Between the CDSOA members in that area and the additional CD Owners on the 'Registry' we have 50+ CDs!!
Steve is taking the initiative in creating a fleet long overdue
With I-10 transversing the area it looks like the drive will be pretty easy also.
I want to say 'Thanks' to Steve for putting this all together.
Fair Winds,
Leo
PS; I have updated the 'lost contact' posting above, but several CD'ers are still out there. Please forward any updated contact info to Steve or me.
