Well friends, seems like FRIDAY the 13th has lived up to its reputation! Everything was going well for dad until today, we had an attack on our 6. Nothing life threatening, but serious enough to send dad back into the hospital. As it now stands, it will be a couple of more days now before he comes back home. It really got him down and yet he knows it has to be what the doctor orders. He was really looking forward to being home, the dog and I were really looking towards him being home, and as I said before, its a new harbour and we do not have a chart for this area, our soundings are constant and the new readings are quite a eye opener. Once again our 12 is clearing up and the tide is with us once again, so up go the new sails again and DAM those TORPEDOES, FULL SAIL ALOFT and off we go with a crew of good friends, as all of you are! I will update this snag we have this afternoon or tonight. Thank you and sorry for the bad news. Your friend... Mike......SEMPER FIDELIS. Dog says wooof to all.

Hopefully this is just a wind shift and he'll be back after an extra tack or two.

So sorry to hear of the setback. Your Dad has always been a big help to me and my many questions. I wish I was as good a daughter as you are a son. You're lucky to have each other.

Best wishes for the speediest possible recovery and return home,

AAAAHH, it is a grand day. Dad is coming HOME, and no problems this time!! I know he will be a lot better off. I also know he will be glad to say HEY to all of you fine folks. The DOG is all excited, so I know its a sure thing, (she would not be wasting all this energy for anything else). Once again, I want to thank all of you for your support, its kind of like having cabin fever not having dad around to talk with. It will be good for my soul to know he is in the other room and not 37 miles away!! So, thank you for all your great replies. Let me ask one question? Why is a barn so noisy? Well if you must know,.......COWS HAVE HORNS!! Thank you all, the dog says WOOOF! And now that dad is home it will be he who will be talking to you all. So keep you 6 covered and may your 12 be clear and smooth, with great winds and plenty of clear sky! BYE for now your friend MIKE, & of course the dog, WOOF WOOF. SEMPER FIDELIS always.

OJ,

I missed the Fri 13th post because I had just left to sail my boat back to haul. I was gone until Sunday. I'm glad it was one of those adjustments we must make when nature doesn't cooperate. We know all about them; we must change plans and go with it or beat it out on the longer route.

Glad to hear that you're back on track after only a couple of tacks.

Sail on, friend

Glad to hear that you made it back to port after a nasty blow. Always pays to seek shelter when there's hardware problems to remedy and we know ( and pray ) that you'll be as good as new for the spring after refitting.

OSWEGOJOHNSHEALTH/UPDATE,not so hot

Post by Oswego John »

Hello folks, its me, Mike speaking and not dad. We really thought he would be setting fire to these here keys talking with all of you by now, thing is...he just is not doing as good as should be. He is alright...just having some problems that were not being picked up on our radar and came out of the fog to tag him hard on his 6, thing is, when we focus all our attention to that position, our sails get robbed of their wind, it then takes time and extra energy to correct our course. I like to say his damage control crew is top notch, and it is!, (dog just takes to many chase the cat brakes!). I just wanted you all to know hes A OKAY, he says hey to all of you So HEY to all of you, he has really enjoyed the cards and special get well thoughts he has received. It has done a lot for me to see his smile again when he gets them...so I thank you also. I will let you know whats going on as I can. Be safe. SEMPER FI. The DOG says WOOF, Your friend..Mike..(THE SPIKE).
