Posting dated Aug 23 indicating July 2000 Rendezvous to be held in New London, Conn. snuck up on me - did I miss a lot of discussion while I was out at sea? The prospect of a sail to New London, Conn. just does not have the aesthetic appeal to me of destinations such as Block Island or Provincetown. Guess I'm just a country boy. Tony,
>>The prospect of a sail to New London, Conn. just does not have the aesthetic appeal to me of destinations such as Block Island or Provincetown.<<
Hey, anyone willing to do the work can name the place! <s>
Seriously, though, as I think about this, the prospect of a single regional meet is great, but of neccessity, will leave lots of boats out. Maine to New London is further than Maine to Onset.
I'm thinking that sub-regional meets need to be considered... and that if the locations are right, they could be the weekend before the bigger get together. Do both, do one or the other, get as close as you can, etc.
Just a thought.
Btw, if you'd like a rematch in the race from Scituate to the canal, let me know. <G>
