Mike,

Is there some way you could post an address to send real snailmail to OJ? He's a vital member of this group and I'm sure we could deluge him with get-well fan mail.

I would like to join in, in wishing Oswego John a complete and speedy recovery. John has certainly earned the respect and admiration of our community with his charismatic style and fun filled wit. At least he did not miss out on much of the sailing season.

Mike,

Although I've never met your Dad in person, I respect him and treasure him as a true friend. Please pass on our best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.

He and his family are in my prayers.

Mike,

What's really good is you realize how lucky you are to have a dad like OJ. I cherish the few days I got to spend with him this summer at your float-in. You have a really neat family and I know exactly what you mean about your dad being your best friend.

I hope he has a full and speedy recovery and is back at the helm of the Ontario in short order.

We all feel the same way about that... we haven't met in person but we're all good friends. When we do meet, it's always meeting an old friend and not a new one.

Wish your dad a speedy recovery!

Mike,

I live in Oswego and have chatted with your dad from time down at the schooner. During the summer of '05 your dad, with my son Steve and I went sailing on a beautiful, blustery fall evening. Steve and I thoroughly enjoyed his company and we look forward to spending more time with him on the water next summer.

We'll be praying for his speedy recovery.

Regards from Florida friends

Its wonderful how there are so many names we associate with on this board and come to think of as friends without having ever met them in person. Each person's writing style and flair tells something about them, as does their 'handle'. (i.e. our beloved O J, Barfwinkle, Didereaux and countless more!)

For some unknown reason, we have tended to develop a trust in these faceless names, and with that trust, friendships which are based on trust. Those are true friendships, not just acquaintences. What I have seen in the few months that I've been a CD'er is a tremendous comraderie that stems from the simple association of our ownership of a piece of fiberglass, surrounded by water into which we throw money.

When one of 'ours' is down, this conglomeration of people pulls together with the hope of bringing that one back up.

Mike, we pray that your Dad will soon be blessed with better health, and his "sails" once again filled with the warm breath of his good friends here.

Dan
