Switching to a hard dodger

Post by Tom Coons »

Sunbrella dodgers look nice and fold down. That's about all that can be said for them. After 5 years or so the thread starts to go, the windows fog up, and they start to look tired. Even with fabric stuff on them they leak from the first if you brush against them and you always do. They are beastly expensive to replace or even to have re-sewn. I decided to have a hard dodger made this year with lexan windows and just installed it. I don't have one of those fancy web pages where you can just have a look, but I scanned about 8 pictures taken from all different angles and would be happy to email you with the pics attached if you'd like to see it. The cost was within a few hundred dollars of a sunbrella one, it's strong enough to stand on, and much cheaper than the ones you see advertised in the mags.

Tom:

I'd love to see the pics.

Is it permanently installed or is it removable?

John, She's a CD 31 hull # 15. You've got your email address hidden so I couldn't forward the pics. Write me direct if you want to see them.
