In line with some other upgrade plans to my CD33 I am considering adding a larger alternator to my electrical system. I have a couple of questions when considering this option. First, the alternator I am considering is a dual-belt alternator. The "driving" pulley currently on my Universal 5424 only has a single belt vee. Has anyone attempted mounting a dual belt alternator on a U5424?
The second question is about regulators. If I choose to go with the dual output model of the alternator, one for each house bank, I am assuming that I will also need two regulators (one for each house bank). If this is true, does anyone know of a good multi-stage regulator that will serve multiple charging circuits? Or is there an easier way to keep both house banks charged off the higher output alternator?
