Hello to all of the CD's spotted, and passed in the fog in the last two weeks in Maine. My wife Carol and I must have waved to ten or fifteen CD's, and spoken to half a dozen. The first thing spoken, after a big hello was always, "Are you going to Robinhood?". Should be quite a time, I hope we can make it.
Some that come to mind are "Scrimshaw" in the Western Way, a beautiful cutter from NY in Blue Hill Bay and "Wind Dancer" exiting the Fox Island Thoroughfare.
A special message to the gentleman from Vermont with whom we spoke briefly as we were departing Rockland Harbor. Yes the fog was thick, it took us three attempts to get past Owl's Head Light. Your description of the conditions was absolutely correct. Each time we would approach the entrance to Muscle Ridge Channel the fog would roll in, visibility would drop to less than 50 yds. and we would turn tail back toward the harbor. After about 10 minutes the fog would lift and we would try again with similar results. On the third try the visibility was 200 to 300 yds. and we began our passage. Conditions varied from 100 yds. to 1/4 mile visibility until we reached High Island Harbor between Dix, High and Bush(?) islands. As soon as we had dropped anchor the fog rolled in with a vengance, bad enough that we took the handheld compass in the dingy as we rowed to Dix to investigate the old quarry. We hope you enjoyed the remainder of your cruise.
To the gentlemen who set up Robinhood, congratulations. From the number of boats we saw last week, it should be a raving success. Your work will certainly be appreciated by all.
Sincerely,
Lee and Carol Hodsdon

Re: To everyone we saw, and those we didn't!
Steve and I look forward to seeing all of you this weekend at Robinhood. At last count, there will be over 40 CDs in attendance with around 90 people keeping them company. Steve is already in Maine and away from his computer and we're leaving for Robinhood tomorrow (sans computer) so there will be no more news until after the event is over.Hello to all of the CD's spotted, and passed in the fog in the last two weeks in Maine.
