I want to add a Jib furling system on our Typhoon.
I have looked at Hood, Harken and Schaefer and they all carry systems that will match with the Typhoon.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone added one of these systems to their Typhoon?
2. Does anyone have any information i.e. ease of installation, wear, effect on sail performance etc. to share?
Thanks

Take a look at the CDI furler, too. I have one on LIQUIDITY and it's been foolproof.

Ditto. A previous owner installed a CDI furler on Jade. It has worked flawlessly.Take a look at the CDI furler, too. I have one on LIQUIDITY and it's been foolproof.

Thanks to all for the solid information. CDI looks like is a useful product.
Does anyone have an address, home state or phone number for CDI?

Re: Jib Furling for a Typhoon
I have a CDI roller furler (Beverly, MA) on my Typhoon, and it's great!!!! I did not do the installation (previous owner did), but he said it was very easy. Under sail, I cannot imagine owning a boat without one. It makes adapting to wind changes so easy, and it's reassuring to guest crew that they don't have to venture on deck in 4' seas to change sails. We have a 150 genoa-the modifications apparently cost about $175 to add the correct foam, suncover and cord to the luff. I plan to have the working jib modified so I can get better pointing ability in heavy air. No wear and tear on the sail at all with the sun cover, and it saves about 15 minutes in prep time each time we go out. The CDI version is a flexible PVC extrusion so it's durable, easy to trail and easy to store.I want to add a Jib furling system on our Typhoon.
