What's a good cleaning product for getting off the residue from masking tape that was used (and not properly removed) after boat was varnished? The residue is on the fiberglass.

3M Adhesive Remover. Expensive, but works very well.

When I first puchased Second Chance last year the prior owner had **Duct Taped** the instrument covers on for the winter. The resulting adhesive mess was daunting. I tried Goo Gone which didn't work. Finally I tried plain old acetone on a paper towel and elbow grease which worked very well. I started out with acetone and a scrubby pad which worked even better but I became concerned over the possibility of dulling and scratching the gelcoat. Use gloves and a mask.

I received this tip from a West Marine sales person and it worked fine. Use nail polish remover which is nothing more than watered down acetone. (read the CVS label) I borrowed a bottle from my wife, so the price was right.

Can vouch for the 3M Adhesive remover. Next time I intend to buy my wife the best tape available.
